Goulandri Museum of Contemporary Art – Commercial HVAC

Assembly Buildings

Andros, Greece

2014

Our company undertook to upgrade the HVAC system of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Andros, owned by the Vassilis & Eliza Goulandris Foundation.

The upgrade includes:
  • The replacement of existing air-cooled chillers with a capacity of 100 kW. The new coolers that are special constructions to withstand the sea water, had copper elements and Inox 316L sheets.
  • The reconstruction of the existing hydraulic network.
  • The construction of an automation system which, in addition to the complete regulation of the installation, will be able to keep a record of temperatures / humidity of the rooms as well as to remotely monitor all operations in Andros by our team in Athens.

The most demanding part of this project was to maintain the temperature and especially the relative humidity level of the rooms within narrow limits.

With the upgrade that we did, the temperature and humidity of each room continued to be within the narrow-desired limits even more accurately, and in addition, both the temperature and the humidity of each room will be controlled and recorded by an automation system and can be depicted graphically for any day or time of year requested.

Our collaboration with the Goulandris Foundation began with the construction of the Museum in Andros in 1983 and continues to this day.
